Family-owned & operated in Stuart, Florida
Not your average solar company.
We design, install, and support solar and energy storage systems for vans, RVs, trailers, and boats — in our shop on Florida's Treasure Coast, and remotely for do-it-yourselfers across the country.
Meet the team
A small crew that designs, builds, and supports every system we put our name on.

Matt Walker
Owner
Matt started Mobile Solar Consulting after wiring his own rig and realizing most of the advice online was wrong. He still designs every system that leaves the shop and has strong opinions about fuse placement.

Jake Batterson
Installation Manager
Jake runs the install bay and keeps the build schedule honest. If a job is going to be done right the first time, it's usually because he checked it twice. Off the clock you'll find him on the water.
Sailor
Dog
Sailor greets every customer, supervises every install, and has never once been helpful. Accepts payment in treats. Currently the only team member with a perfect review score.

Drew Szala
Technician
Drew handles the wiring, the troubleshooting, and the jobs nobody else wants to crawl under a trailer for. He's the reason our diagrams look the way they do in real life.

Sydney Butera
Marketing & Socials
Sydney runs our social channels, shoots most of what you see on YouTube, and translates "what's a busbar" into videos people actually want to watch. Also responsible for the shop playlist.

Jesse Rush
Installer & Craftsman
Jesse builds the parts of a system you can see — the mounts, the panels, the cabinetry that makes an install look factory. Measures twice, cuts once, then measures again just to be sure.

PJ Mangan
Ecommerce & Partner Network
PJ runs the online store and the installer partner network, which means he's the reason your parts show up on time and your out-of-state install has someone we trust behind it.

Mobile Solar Consulting started the way a lot of good things do: with a rig that needed reliable power and a stubborn refusal to accept "good enough." Today we're a full-service shop offering solar and energy storage installation, maintenance, consulting, and equipment sales for the mobile and off-grid world.
Locally, we outfit vans, RVs, and trailers in our Stuart, FL shop. For everyone else, we do the part that's hardest to get right — the design. Our consulting packages deliver custom wiring diagrams and complete parts lists, backed by phone, video, and email support so you can build it yourself with confidence. And if you'd rather have it installed, we'll refer you to an installer we trust or, in some cases, travel to you.
Whether you're a weekend warrior or a full-time nomad, we believe your power system should give you the freedom to explore without limits — and never be the thing you worry about.

Training events →How we work
A few things we hold ourselves to on every project, whether it's a weekend van build or a full marine refit.
Design first
Every system starts on paper. Wire sizes, fuse ratings, and exact connection points are worked out before a single part is ordered — so nothing gets improvised on install day.
Credentials that matter
Our system designer is a Victron Expert and ABYC Certified Electrical Technician with a B.S. in General Engineering from Cal Poly, SLO. We build to standards, not to what happens to fit.
Right the first time
Reliable power isn't a luxury when you live or travel off-grid. We use components we trust, install them the way we'd want them in our own rigs, and stand behind the work.
Teach, don't gatekeep
We'd rather you understand your system than depend on us. That's why we publish videos, run training events, and write diagrams you can actually read.
Not in Florida? We've got you.
Most of the people we help never set foot in our shop. Our design packages work anywhere, and if you'd rather not do the install yourself, we can connect you with a professional installer in our partner network closer to home.
